Originally, the title was Betty and Veronica Comics Digest Magazine, but they dropped the “comics” with issue #44. What we have now is still the same funny and safe stories of the Archie universe centered in good ol’ Riverdale, USA. Introduced in 1941’s Pep #22, Archie Andrews has always been the apple of every girl’s eye, especially these two. Veronica has good looks, money, and sometimes a vindictive attitude if she doesn’t get what she wants. Betty is a teen blonde bombshell that any guy would love to snuggle up with. No wonder Archie can’t make a commitment between the two.

As always, the stories stay up to date, the characters never graduate from high school, and the sales keep staying steady. Many comic book readers have gotten their start from reading the Archie stories. Parents remember them from their childhood and know that their kids will find them perfectly safe and friendly.
